But why astronomical data?

Was this matrix designed to be a mathematical expression of the observable nature of God in the heavens? Possibly. It uses planetary cycles to describe the fundamental nature of the universe. All that exist vibrates, or circles, from an atom to the earth, to the galaxy, each according to a certain rate, a vibration frequency, a measurement of time. And understanding the cyclical nature of existence was one of the things that made time so incredibly important to the astronomer priests.
